My quick stay at Super 8 East was clean and comfortable, and the staff were amazing. Claire deserves a special shout-out. She was great and made the stay more special. All the Best Claire!

The lobby was in disrepair, but the two women at the front desk were sweet and cheerful. The room had no real light, broken tiles, a broken door, and a list of rules warning several times that the hotel wasn't responsible for damages. WiFi didn't work, and both the lights and counter were broken. The fan was so loud it sounded like a jet engine. The walls seemed to amplify every conversation around us. I didn't feel safe, so we left after checking in and seeing the room. I don't care that some reviews call this place decent. It's horrible, and I don't usually write bad reviews because I don't like hurting local businesses, but I feel people could be in danger staying here. Outside, half the building's windows were boarded up, the parking lot was in poor shape, and there were dead trees and random shopping carts around. It shares a parking lot with a domestic violence resource center, which would be fine, but the place looked rough. There was also something called the Tate house, which I think may be housing, though it looked abandoned. At the desk, they asked for copies of both our IDs, which seemed odd. The paint was peeling and the flower beds had only weeds. This is the worst place my husband has ever booked. I'll never let him pick a hotel alone again.

I was in town for a funeral and got charged twice. They refunded the second charge, but by then my account was overdrawn. I still haven't been refunded for the night's stay, despite reaching out repeatedly, and I feel disrespected. I would change my review if I got some customer service. I've managed motels, grocery stores, and clothing stores, so I know what customer service is.

Yvonne was cheerful and welcoming, both to the hotel and the area, and the room was very clean, with fresh sheets and linens. The outside looked a little sketchy, aged, and not especially clean, but the inside and service made up for it. I called the 800 number to reserve and thought the price was a bit high, so I asked for a triple AAA discount. They contacted the hotel, and the clerk suggested I check in directly there. That brought the price down $35.
