Comfort Suites Fairview Heights - St. Louis

We were only inside for about an hour, but it was an awful experience. The whole hotel had a lingering bad smell, the pool was closed, and our room was badly damaged. The electrical needed updating: some lights didn't work at all, while others flickered and dimmed. My wife and I were so uncomfortable having our children there that we checked out and booked somewhere else, something we've never done before. I've contacted management three times and heard nothing back. After we checked out, the hotel charged me a second time. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

Great location, with nearby amenities and easy freeway access. The room was clean, but the sofa wasn't comfortable. There was no iron in the room or at the front desk, breakfast was below par, and management needs to improve.

For what we paid, I expected a clean, comfortable place to rest. Instead, my husband and I were grossed out and uncomfortable. We found a cockroach, the lamp was filthy, and the coffee machine had thick calcium buildup, as if it hadn't been cleaned for a long time. It made us question the hygiene throughout the hotel. We'd never return. I hope management takes this seriously, because no guest should have this experience.

We were traveling for medical needs and had a great stay. Our third-floor suite was quiet, the bed was very comfortable, and the room was clean. The pool was just the right size for a quick swim. When we arrived, the TV remote batteries were dead, but the front desk sorted it out quickly. They also kindly gave us silverware for our takeout. The staff were great and quick to help with any questions or issues. The location is central to the area: not right in the middle of the bigger cities, but close enough for a quick drive. We'll stay here again when we're back this way.
