The Coonamessett worked well for our wedding weekend, both as a place for our dog and for the morning-after buffet breakfast. My mom booked one of the dog-friendly rooms at the last minute and stayed there with our dog. There was plenty of green space on and off the property for walks. We rented the Double Queen Suite as the bride and groom’s suite. It was bright and roomy enough for my eight groomsmen and me to get ready, though I was surprised that such a large shared space had two queen beds instead of a king. The staff, including housekeeping, made us feel like guests of honor all weekend, with a welcome setup for the bride and groom and several room refreshes while we were out. We coordinated the breakfast with the special events team five months ahead. The food was pretty good, nothing special, and a little pricey, as you’d expect for a wedding-related event. Since there wasn’t a wedding on-site that weekend, we could use the whole ballroom. A couple of hotel guests wandered in and took a plate before we let them know it was private. The Coonamessett also opened the bar for us, and my niece and nephew said the espresso martinis were good.

We’ve had several multi-night winter getaways at The Coonamessett and will be back. We’ve tried a king room, a king suite, and now a queen suite, and each was clean and comfortable. The desk staff are friendly and very helpful.

It was a five-minute drive to everything, and getting around was short and easy. Downtown isn’t very walkable from here, if that matters to you. We’d still choose this hotel for its charm, cleanliness, and caring staff over a smaller place downtown. Every staff member we met was kind, and we truly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return. The inn was charming and clean, and breakfast each morning was delicious and kept us full for hours, well beyond a standard continental breakfast. Nancy, who worked at breakfast, was lovely. She kept bringing out extra food, especially chocolate croissants, and checked in to make sure we were enjoying the meal. The bar and restaurant area looked adorable, but we never got to eat there. We’re looking forward to trying it next time. The one downside was that the room’s air conditioning could use an upgrade.

We had a 60th birthday celebration at The Coonamessett, and Claire Kennedy made it easy and fun from beginning to end. She kept the whole thing stress-free. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely lovely, and our guests are still talking about what a great night it was. The custom menu was thoughtfully planned, and coordinating the group’s guest rooms went smoothly. It all felt like true Cape Cod hospitality. We can’t wait to come back for another celebration.

We were in town for a funeral, with the reception held here, and the staff were polite, accommodating, and really amazing. Claire, Amy, and Angie were all wonderful, even while dealing with an 18-inch snowstorm. We loved our stay.
