Mount Blue Motel

The room was compact, but good value and had what we needed, including hot water, a hair dryer, mini fridge, and oven. The staff were awesome, and the service was great. I left my purse with all my credit and debit cards and ID behind, and they responded promptly when I called and kept it safe.

It was clean, but at $750 a week the service didn’t match what I paid. The breakfast was identical the next day, with hard bagels and lots of cereal but no milk. Workers came and went during the day, and one day nobody showed up at all. When I asked the laundry price, I was told it cost $20 per load. Not the best place, even though it was clean.

I wanted to leave as soon as I checked in, but they said they wouldn’t reimburse me. I stayed six nights. The rooms were tiny, and the bathroom was about the size of an outhouse. The sink wouldn’t drain; I told staff for three days before anyone tried to fix it, and it still didn’t drain properly. Breakfast had expired milk and juice. The room smelled of mildew and cigarettes, and the old carpet was stained. There were two positives: the Wi-Fi was faster than in most hotels, and housekeeping was friendly. They cleaned the room and took out the trash on four of the days. At over $100 a night, I wouldn’t recommend this place unless nothing else is available.

We were happy with the room for the price. It was clean and quiet, with a comfortable bed and pillows, a tidy bathroom, a mini fridge, and a microwave. The place is pet friendly for a reasonable fee and within walking distance of several restaurants and stores. My only change would be adding a nightstand on both sides of the bed, but we managed fine without one.
