Sleep Inn Fayetteville I-95

I've stayed here twice and had a good experience both times. The rooms were clean and modern, and the beds and pillows were better than I expected. The price was good too, making it an easy place to stop overnight on the way to your destination. I'd recommend it.

The bathroom had a roach, which added to how uneasy I already felt about this stay. The bigger issue was the front desk clerk, Lisa. After dinner she called me “fun size,” and later my roommate said she’d described me as having a “thick figure” too. I tried to let that first comment go, but when I called about late checkout, Lisa asked if it was “my pretty girl,” then “my pretty fun-size girl.” When I said no, she told me I could get a late checkout if I guessed the color of her undergarments. I was shocked and told her it was inappropriate and unprofessional. She did give me the late checkout, but I felt angry, uncomfortable, and nervous about what she might do next. After an eight-hour drive, check-in had been smooth and I’d just wanted food and a chance to relax. I waited until morning to talk to management rather than confront her that night, since I was so far from home. I explained that I felt sexualized, disrespected, and harassed. Management said they would speak with her, and I reported it to corporate as well. They offered a free stay, which I turned down because this was about how I was treated, not money. If I’d been traveling alone, I would have checked out right away. I won’t stay here again.

We enjoyed our night here, and all four rooms were very clean with not a single bug that we saw. The deposit was $400, which caught me off guard. Still, hotels do require a deposit, so keep the amount in mind when booking, especially if you need more than one room, since it can add up fast.

The thin walls were a problem for me. I could hear people talking in the hall and sounds from the rooms next door. Guests traveling with pets may be put near the exit doors, and those doors slam loudly without a soft-close feature unless someone holds them. The room was fairly clean and inexpensive, and breakfast was nice for the price. Staff were friendly and helpful, and being right off I-95 was handy for a stop along the way. There was no bathroom trash can, a small but important thing, especially for women. It wasn't a terrible stay, but I'd only pick it again if convenience mattered most.
