Comfort Inn Fayetteville near Fort Bragg

The rooms need a full refresh, especially the bathroom, beds, and carpets. The building itself was nice, and the staff greeted us with smiles and were very pleasant. I'd come back for the staff, but not for the rooms.

We checked in on October 20, 2023, and were supposed to take part in Fayetteville State University's Homecoming Parade that morning, so a good night's sleep mattered. Instead, the room phone rang several times in the early morning, once around 1:17-1:18 AM and twice around 1:28 AM. The calls woke my family. Nobody outside our family knew our room assignment, which made them especially inappropriate. When I called the front desk, the attendant referred to room 322, which wasn't our room. There was also a lingering smell like burned wiring throughout our stay, which raised electrical and maintenance concerns. At check-in, a bag of empty alcohol bottles was right outside our door. Inside, eight loose nails or screws were on the table by the lamp with red on it. That's a clear safety and housekeeping failure, especially for families. We ordered breadsticks from Pizza Hut but got a BBQ pizza instead. That wasn't the hotel's responsibility, but it added to the sense of disorder. Neither the hotel staff nor Choice Hotels corporate gave an adequate response or resolution. The issues weren't properly explained, fixed, or meaningfully addressed. This stay showed serious gaps in room inspection, safety, and guest response. I wouldn't recommend this location.

On 3/1/26, I went to the Comfort Inn in Fayetteville, NC, and asked the receptionist if the rooms were clean. He said yes, so I rented one and was assigned room 331. When I went upstairs, I found bedbug eggs on the mattress. I called about getting a refund and was told I was a liar, even though they'd just rented me that room.

It's in a wonderful spot, close to everything, but the hotel is extremely old and needs a remodel. The furniture and other things are very dated, the carpet was filthy, and there was blood on the wall, though I didn't get a photo of it. This Comfort Inn needs to be redone or torn down.
