DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Flagstaff

We’ve come here for four years to see the snow, and the rooms have always been clean and in good shape, even if they’re old. This time, the hotel was beautifully decorated a few days before Christmas. We’ve eaten at the American restaurant for breakfast and dinner, and both were delicious. The wait staff are wonderful, and warm cookies after dinner are perfect. We haven’t tried the Japanese restaurant yet, maybe next time. The room, staff, restaurant, and cookies are all five-star for me, though the toilet paper holder was hanging out of a hole, which housekeeping should have noticed. We also just discovered the guest laundry on the third floor. Awesome. See you next year.

The door to my room had about a 1/4" gap from the frame, so I could see into the hallway with it shut. I stuffed the opening with a towel to block the light and stop anyone from looking in. I paid $30 extra for “Breakfast Included,” but the voucher only covered one entree and one drink. I ordered a two-egg entree and coffee, then was charged extra for milk and orange juice. That limitation wasn’t mentioned on the booking website, so the offer felt misleading. Paying $30 a night extra and still paying more for drinks wasn’t what I expected. I know management will probably respond with the usual empathy and tell me to contact Hilton, but paying customers should expect more. I won’t stay here again.

The staff were so welcoming and helpful, and the breakfast was great for a hotel. My kids loved it, and the vouchers felt worth the price. We did find strands of hair in the bathtub from previous guests, so it could have been cleaned better. Even so, we’d highly recommend this place and look forward to coming back.

The view from our room was beautiful, and it was quiet since this Double Tree location is away from the hustle and bustle. The rooms are clean, and I liked having shampoo, conditioner, and body wash provided. This location is perfect.
