The little gym, hot tub, and sauna were a big plus for me. The sauna was out of order for repairs during my visit, which was fine. Everything was tidy and well organized, and the receptionist was really sweet and polite. I saw complaints about the missing do not disturb sign and the TV having cable, but neither seems like a reason to knock the place down. I was able to watch Netflix anyway. Just keep expectations in line with the price, and this may be my new favorite place in Flagstaff. I’ll stay here whenever I’m in town.
I was charged $40 per night for my pet, even though the photo says there’s a one time $35 fee. If I’d known, I would’ve booked somewhere else. It came to nearly $300 for two nights, and when I pointed out the mismatch to the front desk, they did nothing, with no refund or apology. The room had no art and basically nothing in it. The shower never got properly hot, just lukewarm. The hot tub timer shuts off after two minutes despite going up to five, so you keep having to get out and restart it. The sauna was broken and the pool was closed for the season. For that price, it just isn’t worth it. Stay elsewhere.
The hotel had a great atmosphere, and the front desk team made the stay especially pleasant. Check-in went easily, and whenever I had a question or request, someone was ready to help with a smile. They were polite, professional, and genuinely hospitable. I’d gladly come back and would recommend it to anyone after a comfortable, enjoyable stay.
The location is handy for the highway, places to eat, and gas stations, and the staff were friendly. The property was clean and there was plenty of parking, though the spaces felt tight. The restaurant in the lot gets pretty noisy. Inside, it felt like an old building that had been remodeled without much care. Loose fixtures and marks left by things that were removed gave it the feel of an updated studio apartment building or assisted living facility, not what I’d expect from a Trademark property.
The room was clean enough, but I couldn’t wait to leave. The shower, advertised as a waterfall style, stayed lukewarm, and the halls and carpet were really dirty. There’s no elevator, so getting a suitcase upstairs means hauling it up the open stairs. Lobby coffee is free, but it comes one cup at a time from a machine that feels cheap and unwelcoming. I booked at the last minute and paid almost $300 on New Year’s Eve, including the pet fee. My dog seemed miserable too, mostly because a yappy dog across the hall barked for hours while its owners left it alone. Then room service opened our door at 7 am on New Year’s Day while my husband was getting out of the shower. We were gone by 8:00. A knock, or waiting for a decent hour, would’ve been nice. The place is called Elev8, but nothing about it felt elevated, and calling it a 3-star hotel seems laughable. The website doesn’t match the experience. It’s a cheap remodel of an old Rodeway Inn just off the interstate, with a mismatched, confusing look. Even Motel 6 has a theme. The bare white walls and harsh fluorescent lights made the white towels and bedding look yellowish. Maroon 1990s curtains, apparently left from the old Rodeway, didn’t fit anything and made it feel like the renovation had run out of money or interest. The gray floors felt cold and anesthetic. If you care even a little about simple aesthetics, go somewhere else. This place left me feeling miserable and regretting the stay.
