Tru By Hilton Flagstaff

The grounds are lovely, with three fire pits and plenty of parking for both hotels. The rooms were clean and dog friendly. It’s a new hotel connected to the Home2 Suites, and it lives up to the Hilton name, though the shared spaces get very busy. The elevator and breakfast area were crowded. The AC also could have worked better. It never felt cool, even on the lowest setting all night.

I checked in close to 3 a.m. and was told a late checkout would be no problem, especially given how late I arrived. But at 11 a.m., Kayla at the front desk harassed me and told me to leave immediately. I’m a Hilton Honors Gold member, and the GM Bryan then told me status means nothing at his properties and that treating guests this way is standard protocol for his employees. The staff were extremely rude. I strongly suggest choosing a different place in Flagstaff, one that treats guests like people.

There are free games for kids in the rooms and lobby, which makes this a good place for families. The downside is that kids can be loud at breakfast while people are trying to wake up and eat. The rooms are clean and functional, though a bit small, with narrow hallways and very little furniture. There’s no closet, just a metal rack. I’d stay again and definitely recommend it if you have kids. If kids bother you, maybe don’t stay here lol.

It’s nice to see a hotel bring back some fun, instead of being just a place to sleep. They had fire pits, outdoor and indoor games, and lots of seating. The family amenities were fun, and breakfast was good. There’s a bar and car chargers, and parking is paid whether you’re staying there or not. The rooms are small and a little loud, but everything else was great.
