Anchor Lodge Motel

The harbor is a really fun place to stay, with beautiful views, great food, and a killer distillery. The hotel staff were probably the friendliest I've ever met. They were a pleasure to talk to and kept being helpful and accommodating whenever something came up.

Watching the boats come into the harbor is always fun, and there are birds to look at and sea lions swimming by. The rooms right on the water are amazing, and there's a wonderful restaurant upstairs. The staff are so accommodating. I love everything about this place and plan to stay here every time I visit Fort Bragg!

The fog horn went off every 30 seconds all night, and there was no AC to cover the noise. The only heater was a quiet wall unit that was either on or off. The room was a bit dirty and laid out in a way that didn't make much sense. It felt more like an airbnb than a hotel. I brought food for several days, but the refrigerator was broken and everything spoiled. There's no ice machine, either. I contacted them about the problem and got no response. The area felt a little sketchy, even with a restaurant near the parking lot, and it closes early. There are other lodging options fairly close by that feel safer and look nicer.

Sea lions swim past the window while they're out making a living. The restaurant is right in the harbor, with generous portions and excellent food. The service feels like the real old-time kind, without the faux smiles and banter you get at so many restaurants these days.
