Update: my refund is still missing, with no explanation and no way to track it. That's not okay. I asked about getting my deposit back twice and was told yes. I knew there was a 7 to 10 day wait and didn't complain about how long it takes. But now, after ten days, the deposit hasn't come back. I stay in San Antonio sometimes, and hotels there tend to do the same thing with deposits. They just disappear. Other reviews also say getting a deposit back here is difficult. I updated this because the hotel made its response about the deposit procedure, which wasn't what I mentioned in my review. That shows the same lack of competence they showed in dealing with written complaints, let alone verbal ones. Their comment about the process is strange when the deposit is actually missing. It makes it seem like they want to keep money that isn't theirs. There are plenty of hotels in Fort Worth, and this is one to avoid. The room smelled of stale cigarettes, and the front desk was incompetent and unprofessional, with staff who didn't act like they worked in hospitality. I know this is common in Texas, but it hasn't been my experience elsewhere. If your attitude and work ethic are hurting the company's reputation, do society a favor and quit. Give your business to somewhere else unless you like being treated like trash. Document what you see and what you're told here. In this day and age, you can get screwed even when you do nothing wrong. Corporate greed is at an all-time high, and that's why I recommend recording trouble with them. Texas is a one-party consent state for recording, and I'm glad I have the Google pixel 10 XL, which records everything.

UPDATE: The GM offered me a discount he never gave me in exchange for a five-star review! I came back to my hometown after all these years and was so happy here. I'm within walking distance of so many places, and the people are pleasant and truly care. My service animal's comfortable too, and he's been bossing me around! 😆 🤣 I've already recommended this place to my grown kids, friends, and even strangers. This older motel is low-cost and in a great spot, close to the freeway, TCU, and restaurants, including Old South Pancke house. It was pretty quiet. For the price, expect the usual things like lights that don't work, a weird smell, and a TV that's hard to use, but it was okay.

The place was fine otherwise, but I came back late at night ready to sleep and my key card wouldn't work. My room was all the way at the far end of the building, so I had a long walk to the desk to get it fixed. If I'd been close to the desk, it might not have bothered me as much. When you're exhausted and just want to rest, that trek is a lot.
