Microtel Inn & Suites By Wyndham Ft. Worth North/

I booked a suite, but the room had only a bed and a fridge. When I asked why it didn't match the photo, I was told the suites were being renovated and none were available. As a Wyndham Diamond member, I asked for a better room, but was told I'd have to pay more for one. After some hesitation, I did manage to get a refund.

The room was okay for the price, and the staff were pretty good, but the rest of the place was rough. I woke up to construction workers banging on the ceiling while they worked in the room above me. Every amenity was closed. The pool was a wreck, and couches stood upright, blocking much of the hotel lounge. Breakfast was just cereal and milk.

I stayed several days and never saw any bugs. Room service came daily with clean towels and white sheets, and the elevator was handy. The staff were VERY nice and helpful, and the hotel was quiet. For one of the cheapest places around, my queen suite was spacious, with large mirrors that made getting ready in the morning easy. I never had any Amy issues. My room card quit working a few times, but they replaced it quickly. The pool is no longer available, which was fine by me since it means fewer kids running around. Breakfast was mediocre, though Waffle House is across the street. At $50 a night, I wasn't expecting a full buffet.

We were quoted $72, then charged $85 because they only had two-bed rooms, apparently. Usually a single bed costs more and two beds less, so that didn't make sense to me. The motel seems to be under construction, and breakfast was just small Costco muffins in individual plastic bags. With a $50 deposit added, we paid $127. This place is maybe worth $40 a night, not $87. Whoever thinks this motel is worth that much must have bumped their head. It's a slum motel.
