Best Western Plus Miamisburg-Dayton Suites, Banquets & Hotel

The room looked decent and was clean, and the inside of the hotel seemed fairly nice, with lots of space. Outside was a different story. It was dark when we arrived, and there was so little lighting near the entrance that we first wondered if we had the wrong building or if it was closed. With only two cars in the lot and the area around the building so dark, we weren’t sure we felt safe parking and going in. The exterior looked run down and dated, and the nearly empty lot didn’t make the place seem busy. Later, when we were getting ready for bed, we found a bed bug on the pillow. Staff said they weren’t sure what one looked like, though they thought it might be a bed bug. They moved us to another room, where we checked everything carefully before settling in. We couldn’t tell if it had come from the laundry or the first room, and didn’t want to investigate further to see if there were more. The second room had its own problems. The bathroom door wouldn’t latch, so we wedged it shut with a towel. The heater door kept swinging open, and we had to hold it closed with a chair. In both rooms, the sofa sleeper cushions had no support and tipped forward when you tried to sit on them. Breakfast was an average hotel breakfast, and the price wasn’t bad. I know even expensive hotels can have bed bugs, but with the room condition and poor outside lighting, I don’t think I’ll return. I’m unsure whether I’d recommend this location, though I’d probably suggest another hotel.
