Franklin Terrace Bed and Breakfast

Paul made our weekend anniversary getaway feel special. He was a lovely host, and we really enjoyed both the food and the conversation. The house had a warm, homey feel, and he paid attention to what we needed. We came to town for the Winter Wonderland kick-off and had a wonderful time. Highly recommend, and we’ll be back.

This quiet, comfortable guest house has an unfussy mix of antiques and vintage pieces, with smooth, flat mattresses that made for a good night's sleep. It’s an 1887 schoolhouse that’s been a guest house since 1915, open all year. You can easily walk to the old downtown cafes, antiques shops, outdoor outfitters, and Franklin’s quaint little corners. Paul, who owns, manages, and cooks here, makes an effort to meet reasonable requests. Breakfast was excellent, with several egg and bread options, and he tries to accommodate dietary needs when he can.

We loved staying at The Franklin Terrace over the weekend. The cottage was lovely, and the main house is beautiful too. Paul was a gem and a great cook, and breakfast was incredible. Main Street is an easy walk away. Mountain Valley Inn used to be our regular place, but now we’ll come back to Franklin Terrace. We just loved it!

Paul the innkeeper made a terrific breakfast and was such an interesting person to talk with. Jessica was great when she checked me in. I was visiting family and found the house and rooms clean and quite comfortable. It was an outstanding stay, and I’ll return. Highly recommend.
