Quality Inn & Suites Franklin

The room stay was really bad, and I left after just one more night. The pool was green and, as far as I could tell, unusable. There were no movie sites or updated TV, just basic cable. Breakfast was a bust too: no hot food, no waffles that I saw, and really no food at all. My room was only semi-clean. The beds were clean, but the bathroom sink had what looked like beard or chest hair all over it, and the tub was bad enough that I had to buy cleaner before I could bathe. Of the four lamps, only two worked. The desk chair nearly threw me onto the floor, there was no coffee filter holder, and there were no phones. The clock ran on a battery, with no backup for a power outage. The room was $66.99 a night for two beds, but they wanted $88 for one bed, which made no sense. I had a disagreement with one of the office workers, who was one of the owners. He was rude. His wife, the woman I'd met when I arrived, walked down the hall and told me I shouldn't have spoken to him that way. After that, with cameras everywhere, I felt watched all the time. The place doesn't seem to have to follow the standards of the larger Quality Inn business because it's privately owned. People should think hard before booking unless the owners put a lot of work into upgrades or sell to someone who will.

The room had a mold and smoke smell, no tissue on site, and a nasty refrigerator. There were fans blowing in the hallway, and they didn't have breakfast. Definitely won't stay again.

Check-in took over 45 minutes because the front desk staff seemed unfamiliar with the system. The rate they first quoted didn't match my booking, and they only fixed that after I pointed it out. Once in the room, the AC wasn't working properly, and I got a double bed instead of the King I'd reserved. The stay was disappointing in several ways. The hotel needs better staff training, room maintenance, and quality control, and its facilities seem due for upgrades. I wouldn't recommend it, and I'd rate it below one star.

The only person I'd keep at this place is the older black lady at the front desk. The others, including the tall Indian man and the other lady who had her kids at work, need to go. Whoever owns it should be removed from the Choice Hotels group. Staff were rarely around, and breakfast was late all three mornings I was there. The waffle batter tasted like it was a week old, the mini fridge wasn't cold, and the same trash stayed in the dining area for three days. My room smelled intensely of mold, so I sprayed the whole thing with Lysol. The TV didn't work and they never sent anyone to fix it. The microwave was dirty inside, the bathroom was disgusting, and the cheap towels were scratchy. This place was filthy and badly managed from top to bottom. Since there aren't many places to stay nearby, they seem to think they don't have to fix anything. It's not worth the money. Go to Best Western or the Casino hotel a little farther up if you can, but don't stay here.
