Staybridge Suites Miamisburg by IHG

Manager Rick is a big reason I keep returning. He’s extremely pleasant and professional. This is my favorite Staybridge Hotel, in a great location with excellent staff, and it’s well maintained and clean. The main entrance and even the elevator are spotless. Cleanliness can make or break a hotel.

A big shout-out to GM Rick. We’ll keep choosing this hotel because of how he treated us. We had a very confusing booking mix-up on IHG‘s customer service end and somehow ended up booked at the wrong location. We thought we were completely out of luck, but Rick found us a room for the night and made sure we were taken care of. He was so sweet and accommodating, and even apologized for a mistake that wasn’t his. He really turned the trip around, and we appreciate him so much!

The location was great for the nearby wedding, but that was the only good part of our three-night stay. We paid over $250 a night and couldn’t believe how run down it felt. The carpet and furniture were heavily stained. The refrigerator was as loud as an air compressor, so I unplugged it every night. The shower head was fixed in place and pointed at the wall, with an awful spray pattern, no decent setting, and low pressure. An outlet on one nightstand was dead, so its light didn’t work either. It was switched, but neither switch position helped, and when I checked more closely, it pushed into the wall. There must have been a short. I had to charge my phone in the living room/kitchen area. For all three days, the common areas reeked of straight vinegar. The cleaning staff sprayed it on the floors and then mopped with a Swiffer. I don’t know why the front desk hasn’t asked them to use Pine-Sol or something similar.

The location was great, but the rest of our two-night stay for a soccer tournament was a mess. Even though rooms had been reserved as part of a stay-and-play suggestion, staff repeatedly made it clear they didn't want children there. Before check-in, we got a warning about no parties and were told one strike would get us all kicked out. The room was worn: outlets by one side of the bed didn't work, and the pullout was too small for two kids. Its metal frame wasn't attached and hung down, and staff offered no fix. We asked to use a meeting room for team pizza, but were told it was for business. They suggested eating outside, then warned that being loud or rambunctious would count as our strike. We drove to a local park instead. On checkout Sunday, during a break in the rain, we returned to our room at 9:40 a.m. to find housekeeping stripping the beds, throwing out our fridge food and dumping the ice. There are no ice machines, just a slow freezer ice maker. At the front desk, staff laughed and offered no apology or solution, saying, “I guess we have some very efficient cleaning staff.” Luckily, another family on our team let us sit in their room until we left. I've never dealt with staff or management this rude and unapologetic. I would never recommend it.
