Motel 6 Frederick, MD - Fort Detrick

Room 311 is cold, and the heat doesn't work, so ask not to be put there. The room has a heavy smell, and there's no fridge or microwave. Other hotels five minutes away cost less or the same and include those small amenities. This should really be a hotel of last resort. The owner/manager has made it this way, so I don't feel bad saying so.

On the second night, there was no housekeeping or maintenance. I asked for another room and the clerk was very obliging, but there was another huge cricket in there. I managed to catch this one and flush him away. The sheets and blanket were still poor quality, the mattress wasn't much better, and the wall had a food stain and scuff marks. The first night's heater/AC unit broke, leaving the room freezing. The night clerk tried to fix it, and I give him 5 stars for trying, but he thought better of it. A large cricket kept me awake all night, hiding under the unit whenever I tried to kill it. The bedding was awful, with a paper-thin sheet and only a slightly thicker blanket, and the mattress was shot. I stayed 2 nights. This place needs a thorough renovation. Spend a little extra and stay somewhere else.

I had a wonderful stay at Motel 6. Aarju deserves a special shoutout for being friendly and professional. The service was outstanding, and I felt welcome and well looked after. Highly recommend!

Walking into the place was enough to see how bad it was, you didn't even need to book. The elevator and lobby were disgusting. In the room, the sheets had blood and stains all over them, and there was hair on the stained pillows. I wanted to cry, lol. The bathroom toilet was filthy, and nothing had been cleaned, even though the bed had been freshly made. I can't believe this place is still in business. Please don't lay your head here. This was a horror story, in the worst way possible. I got a full refund and took photos.
