Almost everything was great, from the clean, comfortable beds and working TV to the tidy, well-stocked bathroom and functioning elevator. We enjoyed the indoor pool right after arriving, and breakfast was delicious, with omelet, bacon, potatoes, waffles, toast, coffee, tea, juice, jams, milk, cereal, and oatmeal. The staff service was top notch. The only issue was a urine smell coming from the carpet in our room, which really wasn't okay. I told the front desk and hope they'll clean or replace it. We were very late and tired, so we checked in and went straight to the pool without inspecting the room. I'd probably stay again, but next time I'll check more carefully.
The indoor pool was my favorite part, and it was open most of the day, from 6 a.m. to midnight. The spa wasn't working during our visit, though. We had a roomy king suite, a comfortable bed, good air conditioning, and plenty of hot water. The staff were very friendly, and we liked the generous, tasty complimentary breakfast. Coffee and tea were available in the lobby all day, and there was also a computer and ATM. The location was convenient for the freeway, and I felt safe nearby. Nothing fancy, just a comfortable, enjoyable, affordable stay. We had a good two days and I'll stay again when I'm in the area.
I travel alone on 12-day, 11-night work trips, selling massage chairs at Costco stores around California and Nevada, and I've now stayed here twice in Fresno. It's a good hotel, especially for shorter stays. The front desk and breakfast staff were all great. The room was clean, the king bed soft, though the pillows could've been firmer. Breakfast had plenty of good options, including my usual favorites, and I saw kids eating cereal and oatmeal. The location is close to the freeway, and I really appreciated having coffee available 24/7 since I like it iced at any hour. The one issue was housekeeping. I left the Do Not Disturb sign off and don't ask them in every day, but they cleaned only once out of the four times they should have. 4/5.
We ended up canceling our plans and driving several hours home in the middle of the night because nearby hotels were sold out. The stay had become stressful and felt unsafe, with no meaningful apology or reasonable solution, compensation, or refund option offered. We were assigned a room with one bed despite booking a double queen, and staff acted as if we hadn't reserved that type at all. There was also another guest's bag already in the room when we entered. Staff found its owner and removed it, but didn't apologize. That left us questioning whether the room had been cleaned or assigned to someone else, and whether our belongings would be safe. No one took responsibility or apologized for the room type, denying the reservation, the bag, or the security concerns. The staff's response felt careless and dismissive, as if guest privacy, safety, and basic service didn't matter. A hotel should make sure rooms are properly assigned, secure, and clean before giving them to guests. The whole experience was disorganized and unacceptable, and I can't understand how a place like this is allowed to operate. I wouldn't recommend staying here.
Our trip fell apart after we had to drive hours home in the middle of the night because nearby hotels were sold out. The next two days of plans were canceled. We had arrived late with a confirmed prepaid reservation number from a third-party platform, but the front desk said the hotel was oversold and had no room for us. We got no warning by phone, email, or otherwise. Our friends had booked through a different platform at a higher price, and their reservation was honored, which made it feel as though cheaper prepaid bookings were discarded once the hotel filled up. Their room was supposed to have double beds but had only one, and when we entered, another guest's bag was inside. Staff found the bag's owner and removed it, without treating the privacy and security problem seriously. It was terrifying to think that people could access rooms assigned to other guests, and we couldn't feel sure the room was private, secure, or properly cleaned. Afterward, the booking platform told us the hotel had marked us as a “no-show,” even though we'd arrived in person and spoken to the front desk. The hotel handled things terribly. Overselling can happen, but denying confirmed bookings, calling guests no-shows, and having obvious room security issues is unacceptable. One of the most disappointing, stressful, and unsafe-feeling hotel experiences we've had.
