Gables Motel

I wouldn't stay here. The room was dirty, the blankets were nasty, there were no towels, and spray paint was on the walls. This place is just trash and the building should be condemned. If anyone knows how to report it, please let me know. They should not be open for business. I'd give zero stars if I could.

The wood floors were a big plus for me since there wasn't carpet, and I had no cockroach problems. Several cameras monitor the property, and apart from the train, it was very quiet. The room and floors were dusty when I arrived, and the towels felt more like cleaning rags in quality. It's somewhere in between the cleanest and the filthiest places I've stayed.

There were two live roaches in the bathroom, and the shower drain cover stuck up enough that I had to watch my step so I wouldn't cut my foot. The curtain had mildew all along the bottom, and the towels were so bad we bought our own. It took management four days to get us decent towels, though my husband complained about everything and they said they'd take care of it. The door was hard to open, and we had to ask management to let us in. There was no fire alarm, the TV was barely watchable, and its remote couldn't change the volume or turn it on and off. The bathroom was very dim, with just one bulb. People live there, with boxes and furniture under many windows, and a dog was chained under our window during the day, barking whenever someone passed. You might save a couple of dollars, but it wasn't worth it. Stay far away.

I stayed about a month and never had any problems. The managers were accommodating and accepted my dog without hesitation. I only paid a $10 deposit to bring her, and they even helped when my car broke down. It was secure and quiet at night, a cool place to hang out. The WiFi password changing every 3-4 hours got annoying and inconvenient. I think changing it once a day at 11am checkout time would be enough.
