I used to stay here for work and it felt welcoming, but it's gone downhill since the new GM took over. She's rude and poor at customer service, though she seems good at charging people. Third-party bookings through Expedia or Price Line don't include free breakfast, and arriving an hour early costs $50. The pool has been closed for over three years, and the carpet has nasty stains. Water pressure is poor and hot water takes forever. The one bright spot was a good front desk staff member who made my stay bearable. I won't name her because I don't want her to get in trouble, but thank you for trying to help. I still have another week of work here, but I've already booked at La Quinta off shaw, with its free breakfast, newly built gym, open pool for the kids, and free coffee in the morning and through the day. The GM and staff there are respectful too.

It was quiet enough to feel like a ghost town during my four nights. Staff were superb, the price was good, and my room was clean and comfortable. The towels were soft rather than the usual stiff, scratchy kind. One sink drained very slowly but gave hot water when turned toward cold; the other drained well but wouldn't give hot water. I had to ask for fresh towels and trash removal on day three. The expansive parking lot badly needs resurfacing, and much of the fascia wood over the entrance shows dry rot. Steak &Anchor Restaurant hardly opens because dinner turnout is low, so guests go to the bar to sit or order food. Captain's Cove is open 7-11AM and serves a decent breakfast, with excellent service from both waitresses I had. I remember coming here when I was young, when it really was grand. Sad to see the decline.

Checkout is at noon, which I really appreciate, and when I overslept, nobody woke me or made a fuss. I panicked while rushing my things out, but the staff were cleaning around me and kindly asked if I was staying or leaving, then told me not to worry about a charge. They were friendly and checked me in very quickly. The place is nice, accommodating, and very affordable for what you get. It's become my go-to whenever I'm in the area. Good luck finding somewhere nicer for less. Highly recommend!

We were exhausted and initially didn't mind the dirty towel on a nightstand or the hole in the wall in room 216. Then, around 1:45 a.m., with all the lights off, we heard footsteps going back and forth inside the room. It felt like someone was stomping across the room and touching the sheets, and the bed was vibrating. The sound went toward the bathroom and the door slammed. We turned on the light, got up, and checked out around 2:30 a.m. Management refused our refund request and complaint. Bad experience and bad service.

The place is very worn and musty smelling. I woke up three times because of the room above: first when they arrived at 11:10 p.m., then during their intimate activity at midnight, and again for an early morning bathroom visit. There was also an extremely loud metallic noise on the floor. :-(
