At least it was quiet on a Monday night. I can't say what weekends are like. Beyond that, the room was awful. There was no coffee pot or breakfast, and we got just one towel despite booking for two. The bed was basically a box spring with a one-inch topper, hard as a rock. Furniture was broken, with drawers collapsing into each other. There was hair and strange stains between the sheets, so my wife slept in her clothes. The only chair had animal damage and stains, and under its cushion I found crumbs and potato chip pieces. We'll never stay at a Travelodge again.
For what I paid, this was a steal. The room was super clean, and the front desk staff were really nice. The only sound I noticed was sirens from Blackstone, despite what other reviews said. The gate made me unsure whether I could invite friends over, since I didn't know the policy. The beds could use an upgrade, but I'd still call this a great place.
We were stuck with the no-refund policy, but I would have left otherwise. Room 205 was dirty and run down, with stained carpet and cigarette burns on the blankets on both beds. The top blankets clearly hadn't been washed, with fresh stains and animal hair. The fridge light worked, but it was hot inside and smelled bad. There were no face towels, and the TV didn't work. We didn't see bed bugs or other bugs, and we were glad we had our own things to sleep on. The property is gated, security walks around socializing with tenants, and it seems the bottom floor is for people living there while the top is for nightly renters. None of that stopped the late-night partying. We woke to garbage, beer cans, and cigarettes scattered around. My daughter was in a different room that was even worse, and she's a Wyndham employee. Wyndham is usually my first choice, but they need to remove their name from this place. I hate leaving bad reviews, but it seemed suited to late-night partying, and I can imagine hooked and drug users feeling comfortable there. I'll contact corporate to request a refund and report the property.
The bed was too hard, my main complaint, so please invest in new ones. Still, after a week camping on the road, it beat trying to sleep around rocks. The furniture was old and scratched, but for a two-star hotel I didn't expect perfection. The room was clean, the staff friendly, and the gate made it feel safe. It was quiet, the Wi-Fi was great, and I streamed Netflix without any trouble. Decent for one night while traveling, and the rates were reasonable.
A cockroach on the bed greeted us when we got into the room late at night, after a long night of celebrating. We were hoping for somewhere clean and nice like the pictures. Luckily there were two beds, but the carpet was disgusting and nothing seemed clean. We slept in our clothes, uncomfortable, then left as soon as we woke up. We couldn't relax and worried there might be more roaches. I've always liked Wyndham hotels, but this didn't meet their standards.
