Motel 6 Gainesville, GA

We had a good night here with our babies and dogs. The rooms and service were a little better than we expected, while the rest was pretty much what you'd expect. The ice machine was frozen over, there was no breakfast, and nothing felt fancy.

The staff deserves the highest marks here. They were so nice, and I think they do the best they can with so many people coming and going. The motel itself is old, with dirty, dated rooms, and it's in a rough area. It's also very large and busy at all hours.

The courtyard smelled like sewage, and there was a lot of noise. Around 1 a.m. I heard what sounded like gunfire. In Room 123, the bed was uncomfortable, the sheets had holes and stains, and the pillows were almost flat. There was no chair, hand towels, or washcloths. The room was filthy, especially the bathroom, with obvious mold throughout. The towels were damp from all the moisture. Avoid this place if you can.

I booked two nights with my husband for our anniversary. The woman at check-in was nice, but the bathroom had mold and the towel rack came apart because it was overloaded with towels. Worse, someone went through our belongings while we were out and put a wasp in the room. I don't expect much from Motel 6, but I do expect the room to be secure from snooping and potential thieves while we're on vacation. I won't stay at this location again. Edit: Taking off five stars for the generic copy-and-paste reply on every bad review about the filth and damage. It says they're sorry it wasn't up to expectations, but that nothing is changing.
