Breakfast in the old brewing room is a special part of a stay here, though I believe it’s offered only on Sundays and is free with a stay of at least two nights. We stayed in Albert's Glen, a spacious room with thoughtful touches. The hosts, Sandy and Mark, are what make this place so special: they’re kind and friendly, and taught us a lot about the building’s history and Galena. This may be my favorite B&B yet. Can’t wait to return!

The owners made a fabulous breakfast. I had one of the best omelets I’ve ever eaten. Our room worked wonderfully for three people, and Spring Street was an easy walk, about half a mile away. It was quiet and gave us that small-town feel, while still being close enough to enjoy downtown’s party scene. We’d definitely stay again.

We stayed three nights in Oreos hideaway and had a marvelous time. The room had lots of space, all the amenities we needed, and a comfortable place to come back to after exploring the many things to see and do around Galena. Downtown was about a five-minute walk. We found it nicer to cross the street and follow the sidewalk past the library, and that route was pleasant, too. One thing to keep in mind: the stairs up to the room are numerous, and Galena has plenty of steps and steep slopes, so it may be difficult if you use a wheelchair or have mobility issues. I’d absolutely recommend staying here.

The handmade sculpture and tiles in our room were beautiful, and breakfast the next morning was made even better by the hosts’ company and the other guests. My wife and I spent our tenth anniversary in Galena at Abe's Spring Street Guest House. We also visited the hosts’ gallery next door, which is a must-see for art lovers. We’ll stay at this bed and breakfast when we return.

The people we met here were so interesting, and the owners are sweet and personable. The food was amazing, too. I can’t say enough good things about this bed and breakfast. Our stay was worth every penny and every moment. We loved it and will definitely return.
