Econo Lodge Absecon

For about $30, our room was a mixed bag. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, more so than at Harrah's Casino hotel. The bathroom was okay, and the toilet was probably its best part. But the room could have been cleaner. I know stains can remain after washing, but if something is badly stained, I think they should replace it. The shower rod was coming apart where the curtain hangs, and the curtain had mold along the bottom. We had room 206. The hot tub was “out of order,” and when we asked the price for a working one, we were told $60. I think they may shut off the water for that part of the room if you pay $30 or less. I wouldn't return without serious updating.

The woman at the desk was really nice and returned our money within 24 hours, but the stay was nothing like I expected from the reviews. The room was filthy, smelled strongly of smoke, and had burn marks. We even found a pack of cigarettes in the made bed. We changed rooms, but it was so gross I was about ready to sleep in the bathtub. The sheets weren't fitted and the mattresses were ancient. I didn't see bugs, but it still wasn't clean. Someone in the parking lot kept bothering us and saying how nice the place was. I think he lived there. The place looked more like a casino.

I usually bring my small dog when I travel, and they were friendly and accommodating about that. The owners and staff were some of the most amazing people I've met. They made us feel welcome and at home. If you need a decent place to stay the night and really good customer care, this Econo Lodge is well worth the money.

The staff were so friendly, and our room was very clean. It was a relaxing stay, and a nice spot for a quick trip. There were quite a few spiders outside our room, though. The hotel could use some updating, and there wasn't a coffee maker in the room.
