Sunshine Inn Atlantic City Absecon

The service was good, but the motel needs some work inside. We had two rooms next to each other, and one was fantastic while the other wasn’t so great. In the bad room, the drapes were broken and barely moved, the hangers were missing from both sides of the bathroom, and the main lights didn’t work.

I started out in non-smoking room 231, but it felt muggy and stale, and the air wasn’t on. Then a bedbug appeared on one of the pillows. I called the front desk and they moved me two floors up, but the floors were stained and the furniture looked old. I definitely won’t return. The outside was dull and so dark I could barely see the place. It needs to close, be remodeled, and be disinfected. There was paint on the doors. I can’t give this hotel any stars.

The bathroom smelled like urine, and the room was so dirty I didn’t feel comfortable showering there. I wore flip-flops in the shower. When I complained, someone came back to clean, but they did nothing else about it. I checked room 105 very carefully for bedbugs and thankfully didn’t find any. When I first walked in, there were about ten flies, a dirty empty pizza box, and a cupcake wrapper on the floor. I’ll never come back. Yuck.

We asked to switch rooms because ours stunk and was dirty, but were told we’d have to pay extra for a “suite.” It wasn’t a suite, just a bigger room with a dirty jacuzzi in the middle, and it smelled like dog. We went back to the original room, and I cleaned it myself. There were lots of hairs in the bed, dust everywhere, dirt in the tub and around the sink, and sand on the bathroom floor. The room smelled like smoke, funk, and mold mixed together. We ended up buying a bed set to cover the whole bed, towels, loads of air freshener, carpet deodorizer, and candles. Just horrible!
