Colton Motel Gettysburg

I’ve booked a one-bed room here twice, and both times it was very clean. The owner and office staff are pleasant, and the rooms work well for travelers, with Wi-Fi, heat, and AC. They provide basics like ice, shampoo, soap, and toilet paper. On my second stay the microwave was broken, though it wasn’t a big deal. The TV is on the small side and there’s no phone in the room. I really enjoy staying here and plan to come back soon.

A fairly inexpensive place to spend the night, with a microwave and small refrigerator in every room. It’s close to the Gettysburg battlefield, so it worked well as a base for looking around the landmark.

Kim in the office was wonderful and helped me when I was incredibly stressed. The place is small, quiet, welcoming, and comfortable. It’s an older property, but it has the modern updates you need. Breakfast and coffee in the morning are easy, too. I don’t understand why it doesn’t have five stars.

I stayed here in 2008 or 2009, I think, and I swear these are the same pillows. The heater/AC unit is cracked, and you can’t direct the heat. In eco mode it switches on and off every 10 minutes while you’re freezing. The doors aren’t insulated against the cold either. The property is old, and I don’t think the owner has fixed or updated a thing across the two properties. Be ready for cigarette smoke too, people here smoke constantly. Avoid.
