The pool was closed for maintenance, so we'll have to try it next time. Otherwise, this worked well for our family event. The hotel is near the Convention Center, and the room was large and quiet, with a comfortable bed, great pillows, and plenty of bathroom amenities. There was a small sofa bed, but we didn't use it. Breakfast was great the first morning, with bacon, sausage, potatoes, eggs, and pastries. On the second morning there was only sausage, but it was still a good breakfast. We didn't try the make-your-own pancakes. The snack shop charges purchases to your room and was easy to use, instead of having vending machines. We may make this our regular place when we're in the area.

The sales representative made me want to bring future events here. She went above and beyond, even replying to an email and fixing a problem while she was off. I hadn't realized she'd taken time off when I emailed her. The sales team's customer service was better than I could have imagined and has set a very high bar for other locations. Thanks for making it such an enjoyable experience for me and everyone at our conference. The hotel itself was great for our work event, too. The conference room, food setup area, and A/V equipment were just what we needed.

The pond behind the hotel made the location especially nice, with a paved path for walking. We also got a window looking out at the pond, which was much better than the usual view of a parking lot or city and industrial buildings. Our room was decent and fairly clean, and the free breakfast was pretty good. No complaints.

Everyone else we met who worked there was friendly and accommodating, but the check-in woman's attitude made us avoid going downstairs or asking for anything. We used the side entrance when we knew she was around. I also saw her dramatically spray Lysol after speaking to another guest, who looked like they may have felt as much of a hassle as we did. If I had a choice, I wouldn't stay here again because of her. She seemed irritated with a new system and complained to me about it as soon as we arrived. I don't know whether she had a problem with Creek Nation, but when she learned they were paying for our weeklong stay, she said the reservation didn't match and we only had one room. We were supposed to have adjoining rooms for our family of seven. Only after she called and argued with Creek Nation did she look for another room, saying we'd be put on opposite sides of the hotel if none were available. She didn't mention an adjoining room until her supervisor was standing behind her. Then she said it hadn't shown up earlier. Maybe she'd had a bad day, but her attitude continued through the stay. I don't know her name, only that she was a white woman with shoulder-length hair.

The lobby had a fireplace and a cute sitting area, but it seemed to be used mainly during breakfast. I wish it had been lit and open at other times too. The breakfast itself was free, with a pancake machine, breads, scrambled eggs, and sausage. I missed having coffee and hot water available all day, since the other Holiday Inns we'd stayed at had that. Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable, though the rooms showed some wear. The bathroom ceiling was especially rough. The front desk area had a very strong perfume smell. I liked it, but anyone sensitive to perfume may find it too much. It didn't smell that way elsewhere in the hotel. The elevator carpet was dingy and damp-smelling, like it had gotten wet and never fully dried. Given how much use elevators get, I'd suggest removing the rug.
