Comfort Inn Grand Island North

The rooms were very clean, which was a big plus, but the bed was uncomfortable and doors banged shut all day and night. Breakfast was pretty poor: dry cereal or make-your-own waffles, plus eggs and sausage that weren’t good. I’d rather stay somewhere else. Watch the fine print. I was charged an automatic $3 tip without being told, and the check-in was rushed, so it was easy to miss on the bill. When I asked what incidentals they were swiping my card for, they said there was no charge, but still swiped it after I’d prepaid.

The rooms were clean and nice, and breakfast was okay. Maybe I was just tired of waffles after a week at another hotel. We stopped here for a couple of hours during our journey and were pleasantly surprised. I’d been thinking I might book Comfort Inn rooms from now on if they were all like this, but after reading reviews about an automatic tip, I’d pass. I shouldn’t be forced to tip when we barely stayed and didn’t mess anything up. They said I’d signed the e-whatever, meaning the little screen that automatically writes your initials on each line. At many hotels I’ve stayed at, staff go over each line and the guest initials it. Here they didn’t explain anything and the initials were automatic, which makes it seem like they’re trying to hide the charge. I guess I should’ve read the reviews first.

It’s a good price, in a safe location with food nearby. The rooms were clean, though the bathroom showed the head needs replacing. We had an issue, but the general manager fixed it right away, so we’ll definitely stay again when we travel to grand Island for business.

This was my fifth year staying here for about a week, and I still haven’t been disappointed since moving from NE. The rooms are always clean and comfortable, the pool and hot tub work, and anything that comes up gets sorted quickly. The price is consistently reasonable, and breakfast is simple but enough. It’s a great location and a great stay.
