Quality Inn and Conference Center Greeley Downtown

Between the train blaring outside my window and the paper-thin walls letting me hear everything the neighbors were doing, I never slept. The hotel is in disrepair: my shower kept leaking, the toilet ran unless I jiggled the handle just right, and the main light didn't work. The staff may be friendly, but unless you want hardly any rest in a slum hotel, avoid this place. I'd be ashamed to own or operate it.

Our first impression was bad, and it only got worse. The employee apologized for putting us in an uncleaned room and asked if we still wanted to stay. It was late, and I didn't want to spend time finding another place in Greely, so we switched rooms. We passed several rooms with loud music and bad smells along the way. The new room at least looked clean, though I found a long black hair on the sheets and couldn't tell if they were clean or the bed had just been made. It was freezing when we entered, with the heater off. We turned it on, but it didn't work, and we ended up sleeping in our clothes. The room next door sounded like they were playing Call of Duty at the loudest volume possible. The other people there seemed to live in the hotel rather than be guests. Earlier, on the way to our first room, the hall carpet hadn't been vacuumed. That room was clearly already used: the beds were unmade, there were trays of partly eaten food on the dresser, and bags of trash on the floor. At check-in, the employee said, “Oh he must have put you in a room we haven't cleaned yet, do you still want to stay here?” They said we could take something free from the gift shop, which was basically a closet crammed with a couple of fridges, pop, snacks, and ramen cups. We were told to park in the back lot, and the first two room windows beside the rear entrance had huge neon lights that gave off red light district vibes. I wouldn't recommend staying here. There's a nice Cobblestone Inn down the road that I'd look at before considering the Quality by Choice Hotels.

I've been to this hotel several times in the past month to use the shower because of my illness. It's an absolute wreck: filthy hallways, rooms that seem barely finished, and a terrible smell throughout the building. I hadn't written a review before because I came out of necessity, not because I needed a nice place to stay. But the front desk staff were rude and unhelpful on my last two visits. On the first, I waited at least 20 minutes trying to check in with nobody in sight. Other guests and I called for help in the halls and lobby, but no one came. I left, and only saw a man behind the counter as I was pulling away. Most recently, my father and I tried checking in a few hours early, which had never been a problem before, and were told to come back at 3:00, our check-in time. When we returned, they refused us a room or refund. Getting our money back took a lot of hassle. It's a dirty cesspit with extremely unhelpful staff, and you'll wish you'd spent your money elsewhere. At least it's cheap.

The room was dirty, the closet was full of trash, and the fridge wasn't even plugged in. Worst of all, the mattress looked like it had blood stains on it. The walls were dirty too. Maybe other floors were remodeled, but the first floor still sucks, just like when it was the Clarion. SMH.
