The location is convenient, right off the interstate and near a couple of fast food places, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Even at a cheap nightly rate, though, this hotel isn't worth the money. The common area and hallway floors are rotten enough that you sink as you walk, and someone unsteady could easily trip or fall. We had two rooms. Their floors looked newer, but seemed poorly done, with gaps and uneven spots. Both AC units sounded ready to break at any moment. There were brown stains in the tubs, and the whole place smelled like an ashtray mixed with an aquarium.

Russ was helpful and accommodating at check-in, and the lower price was a lot less than other places nearby. In my research, this was the only lodging where my family of five could all stay in one room. That matters to me because my 15-year-old child has autism and can't stay alone yet. My hospitality-industry background probably shapes how I see things. The room was clean, and the water pressure was good. It's a basic place, but good value if all you need is a clean bed and a decent shower. Lake Oconee is about 10-15 minutes away. Auto Zone, McDonald's, Wendy's, a gas station, and Pizza Hut are within walking distance, and Waffle House and some other places are easier to reach by car. A few things could be better. The Glade plug-ins smelled overpoweringly bad, like aftershave in a nursing home, so I unplugged ours. I have two children with respiratory issues that can be triggered by strong fragrances. I also think using them is poor practice and makes it seem like there's something to cover up; a clean room shouldn't stink. The shower curtains hung too low in the tub and were mildewing. Bleaching them and raising the rods about six inches would help. We didn't have enough towels or toiletries for five guests, even though I booked almost a week ahead. There were at best enough towels for three, including hand towels. After the first day, the trash liners weren't replaced either. I also wish staff wore something besides street clothes, perhaps a uniform color that would distinguish them from guests.

This was creepy inside and unbelievably disgusting. There were bugs everywhere, and the floor looked like it had urine on it. I'd rather sleep on the street. I would NOT recommend it.

We only needed a roof while evacuating from the hurricane, and I suppose this could work as a LAST resort, if you truly have no other options. It's a place to sleep, but barely. The longer we were there, the more problems showed up. Dead bugs were EVERYWHERE, the place was filthy and looked like it had never been mopped, and the pillows and sheets had strange stains. I really wanted to leave a good review, but couldn't.
