I was visiting my brother in the ICU, so I couldn’t leave the room on the second day. The lock failed, and the night maintenance person said it couldn’t be changed until morning, meaning I had to stay in. After I spoke with John, the assistant manager, he was fantastic and moved me to another room. Maintenance came up and replaced the lock batteries. The other guy needs training. The first night was a nightmare: rust, mold, filth, and broken AC. The same problems were in two rooms. The pictures will speak for themselves.

The front desk staff were really friendly, but it took three rooms to find working HVAC. We finally stayed in one with a comfortable temperature, and by then it was too late to move our bags again. The hallways on two floors also seemed to have no working HVAC. The pool is empty with no repair date, and the treadmill was broken. It seems management is putting off maintenance.

I love that the rooms feel like little homes, and I like being outside downtown Denver. Breakfast used to be great when I worked for them in 2003, but now there isn’t much to choose from. The orange, apple, and grape juice aren’t fresh; they come from a bag in a machine. The deposit is too high, too.

Breakfast is great, and there’s always coffee and water. The location is handy, with a free shuttle within a three-mile radius. The hotel feels dated, though, and there is no pool. A sign says they don’t plan to add one anytime soon.
