Suburban Extended Stay Hotel Hammond

The online pictures gave me the wrong idea. Check-in was fine and the front desk person was nice, but the second we passed a door on the way to the elevators, we smelled weed, and it continued all the way to the second floor. The halls were gross, with trash bags left by doors like people lived there. The elevator gave a jump on the way up and felt like it might fall. Inside, the room was ugly and generic, and the sheets had hair and stains. The smell was horrible, really strong, like onions and something else. I gagged when I walked in. My family used the room to get ready for a wedding, then left as soon as it was over because we couldn’t stay there. Such a bad, ugly hotel.

The bathroom and bed were clean, but the floors were pretty dirty. The third floor hallway smelled strange, while the first floor was fine, and some areas had a strong cigarette smell. The elevators were so slow that the stairs would’ve been quicker. I’ve stayed in better places and worse ones too. You get about what you pay for, and this hotel was average but worth the price.

The staff were wonderful, and the rooms turned out better than I expected.

The kitchens were a good feature, and it’s easy to reach the highway, food stores, and supermarkets. Cleaning was a bit poor, with garbage bags often left in the corridors as though people were living there. Also, there wasn’t breakfast like the photos showed.
