It was clean, which matters, but that’s the only good thing I can say. There wasn’t even a clock or phone in the room, and no do not disturb sign for the door. I asked for a handicapped room and was told they didn’t have one, which I think is illegal under the ADA. I also asked for a shower because of mobility issues, but they only had tubs, and this one didn’t even have a grab bar. The toilet didn’t flush well, the curtain wouldn’t close all the way, and the bathroom access was so tight a wheelchair couldn’t fit. The microwave was tiny, barely big enough for a small cup, and the soap and shampoo were terrible quality. I brought my own because of sensitive skin. Some of this may sound nitpicky, but it was irritating. A grab bar or wheelchair access is a big deal. In response to the owner’s reply: We were there from 1 pm until 11 am the next day. My husband worked 3 to 11 the first day and 7 to 3 on checkout day. I showered, but brought my own shampoo, cream rinse, and towels because of my sensitive skin. I used one towel for my hair. We’re both over 70, so we slept the few hours between his two shifts. They returned our deposit right after inspecting the room, and only called it dirty after my review was posted. Maybe they’re thinking of another room that needed a deep clean, perhaps the one next to me with loud music from a van and pizza boxes against the wall. Thanks.
