Rod gives top-tier customer service, and the housekeepers are friendly. My experience this time was bad, though. We’d been displaced and moved back in from a shelter without a washing machine, so our laundry had piled up. After a tiring day of packing and relocating, we went to sleep, although I had planned to wash clothes and take the things we didn’t need to storage. The next morning, the manager came in with the housekeeper to inspect and spoke to me as if I were a child. It was the tone that bothered me. I explained why we had so much and that I planned to move things to storage. Later, I found a dirty-room warning letter on the floor a couple feet from the door, saying everything had to be gone by the end of the week. The communication could have been handled much better. I also wasn’t sure I’d renew the room. When I tried, I was told the system was down and to come back the next day. That happened every day until Friday, when we were told to leave because someone had booked our room online. They let people book a room even while someone is staying in it, despite being an extended-stay hotel. The manager can be friendly some days and unpleasant on others, which made the stay uncomfortable. I don’t know what her issue is. They also kept my deposit. I left food for the staff to keep rather than throw it away, and got charged for it. I’ll take that loss, but I wouldn’t return or recommend this location. 2134 W Mercury Blvd. They still have roaches. Edit: To the General Manager who replied to my review, how was I supposed to contact you when you left no contact details? If you were concerned, the hotel has my email and phone number. I’d much rather speak to corporate, but they made themselves unavailable to customers. We’re the ones making them rich and supporting a luxurious lifestyle while we suffer in 2-3 star hotels. Don’t reply just to make it look like you care when you don’t. Aren’t you friends with the manager? That seems like a conflict of interest. Tell corporate to contact me. I might update my review after that.
The room was spacious and clean, and the kitchen had what it needed, though I wish cooking utensils had been included. Staff were attentive and supportive when I needed something. All in all, it was a great experience.
Danielle, the manager, is rude and listened through the door to a conversation, which was very unprofessional. From other comments, it seems this isn’t the first time she’s done this, and she should be fired. Then she called my room to harass me and say I was lying, even though there are many comments about her being rude. She called me about things that had nothing to do with the room. She’s unprofessional and lies about what she said, claiming she felt uncomfortable when she was the one creating the problem. It feels like bad customer service and an attempt to cover herself. The owner doesn’t seem to care how people are treated.
Of the three locations I’ve stayed at, this one is the best maintained by far. The laundry dryers actually get clothes dry, and the stove has a safety feature that shuts it off if you fall asleep while cooking.
Everything is nearby, and having a kitchen in my room was a real plus. The staff were polite, the room was nice and clean, and the price was very affordable.
