The cockroaches behind the furniture mostly stayed out of the living room and rarely appeared in the bathroom. I found them after accidentally dropping a tomato behind the cupboard. For a microwave, fridge, and coffee maker, choose a premium room. The exterior corridors don't offer much privacy or soundproofing, as is typical for Red Roof. Housekeeping carts often blocked the narrow corridors and stairs, even when there was room to put them somewhere less disruptive. You get what you pay for.

We've been members of this chain for years because we travel with our dog, and we've had mixed stays, but this one was the worst. Our room wasn't ready after 3pm. We were meeting people and didn't notice at first that it had no coffee supplies, and the fridge still had food from the previous guest. It was late, and we were told we'd get a refund, so we planned to stay two nights. We changed our minds and moved, but when my husband went to check out, he was told there'd be no refund. I was outside taking photos, including one of the lobby. As I was returning to my car, the woman from the office rushed out, tried to grab my phone, shoved me, and told me not to take pictures. I was startled, moved the car, and we called the police. She made threats, then admitted to the police that she'd grabbed my hand. She was apparently the night desk person. We ended up late to a soccer title match and decided to take it up with corporate. We stayed at another RR location the next night without any problems. That woman has no business in customer service.

The front desk staff were rude and hard to communicate with, making an already stressful situation worse. The lack of professionalism had a real effect on my stay, and Red Roof should look at service quality across its Maryland locations. They need better hiring and staff training. This was unacceptable, 0/10, wouldn't recommend. Don't book here!

The Red Roof Inn in Hanover is peaceful, pleasant, clean, and welcoming. The owner gives guests thoughtful care, and the front desk and housekeeping teams work hard to keep people comfortable and safe with what they need. I really appreciate their hospitality and service. It's also a good place to bring a furry friend. Definitely a 10/10 stay, and I highly recommend it for travelers or anyone wanting a quiet night away.
