The hotel is in poor shape and I wouldn't recommend it. For the free breakfast, you have to ask the night before, then they give you a box of food to microwave the next morning. Apparently this place used to be a Best Western, but it isn't anymore.

Our earlier plans fell through, but we managed to find a room here for three nights on short notice. The prices were fair, the rooms clean, and I liked that the motel sits tucked under a hill. Even the front rooms feel a bit private there. The staff were all nice and accommodating, and the free coffee and breakfast were a nice extra. I'd highly recommend it as a go-to place to stay.

The front desk ladies were very sweet and helpful, as far as management allowed, and the beds were comfortable. The frozen breakfast was actually pretty good, with a generous sausage and egg biscuit. Each room had a small fridge, microwave, and coffee maker, with coffee, creamer, and sugar in the lobby. The place is run down, and the doors don't seal well, so light comes through. On the ground floor, bugs can get in through the outside doorways. I killed five "wood bugs" in my first five minutes, three as soon as I opened the door. Help wasn't available after 8pm, and we didn't sleep that night. We couldn't leave our bags in the room because we feared bringing pests home. They wouldn't refund us so we could go elsewhere, but moved us to another room, where there were only two "woodbugs". I live in a heavily wooded area and know what "wood bugs" are. Instead of denying what kind they were, they need better door seals and an exterminator. I can overlook the hotel's rundown appearance since that's cosmetic and didn't affect our stay, but I wouldn't stay again because of the lack of pest control.

That parking lot looks like a Walmart lot with all those bright lights. They need to turn them down at night, there's way too much light. It's surprising the city hasn't done anything about it, especially on a main highway.

For an old hotel in a seasonal resort community, the price and location are hard to beat. The room was clean, the beds comfortable, and breakfast was just fine. We could heat breakfast in the microwave and head out fishing at daylight. Don't let the negative reviews put you off.
