The good parts were the service and the location. Pedro checked my friend and me in with plenty of jokes, and Nima was nice when she checked us out. I’m not sure if she’s the person other reviews called mean. But the room smelled like old wood, the furniture was worn, the chair was missing its arm cushions, and there were brownish-red marks on the curtains. We stayed a couple of nights, and the price and cleanliness just weren’t up to par. I should have read reviews before booking. I could relate to most of the negative ones, and we didn’t try the breakfast because reviews mentioned moldy bread. Pedro did tell us about a $150 incidental deposit, which we hadn’t known about when booking online.

The one little annoyance was the bar hand soap. Shampoo, conditioner, and lotion came in dispensers, so I would’ve preferred a soap dispenser too to cut down on waste. Breakfast wasn’t anything special, even for a free one, but it was adequate, and our brief interactions with staff were pleasant. For tournament trips with my kid, we care about location, value, safety, and cleanliness. This hotel checked all four. For the price, it was one of the nicest facilities we’ve stayed at. Our room and bathroom were spotless, and we saw no maintenance issues in the room or common areas we used. Even though the hotel is by a freeway and major road, the room was quiet.

Pedro stood out for his warm, professional hospitality, and the staff were welcoming and friendly throughout my stay. There was a housekeeping issue at first because the room hadn’t been cleaned, but I mentioned it and they took care of it right away. I appreciated the quick, professional response. With that same attention to housekeeping, the hotel could offer a great stay, since the customer service is already strong.

I chose this location after reading the details carefully because Choice properties don’t all have the same policies. Under “Need to know,” this one said a deposit was required for anyone booking with points, cash, or a prepaid reservation. Nothing else was listed, and I don’t pay a deposit at every Choice hotel I stay at. At check-in, the man at the desk charged me for the room, then said there was a $150 deposit, though he could make it $100. I said that didn’t match the website, but he argued and refused to look when I tried to show him Choice Hotels’ page. He smugly told me to call Choice. I spoke with two people there who read the same wording and said “huh,” but couldn’t help. The second person also said they couldn’t do anything about the deposit or refund me or cancel the room. Now I’m out $98 for a room I can’t even use, plus gas. I have to drive 1.5 hours back home, then turn around in the morning with my autistic child and drive 3 hours because I’d hoped to get at least halfway tonight. Thanks, Choice, for such a disappointment and what feels like fraudulent-type activity.

Avoid this place. The service and cleaning were awful, and the front desk woman who checked me in was extremely rude. I also found a $150 deposit very high compared with other hotels. I booked Tuesday to Wednesday, checked out Wednesday morning, then needed to stay in the area again for work. Friends were staying here until Friday, so I decided to book again. I got the same room, and the sheets had a very distinctive stain I recognized from the night before. They do not change the sheets after every guest. Edit: The third time I checked into this hotel and got the same room, the booking was under my friends’ name. That’s why the business believes I didn’t stay in the same room twice.
