Motel 6 Holyoke MA

The location made getting around convenient, and the clean, comfortable room worked well for a short stay. The staff were really friendly too. It was better than I expected.

The landscaping on the drive up the hill was beautiful, and the front desk staff were welcoming. My wife had been unsure about the location, but we’ve had good experiences at Motel 6 before, so we decided to try it. When we asked to see a room, the gentleman showed us three and explained how they clean them. We appreciated the care and attention, and my wife was happy with the rooms. Motel 6 came through for us again.

The floors looked uncleaned, and there was blue toothpaste smeared on the bathroom door. The shower didn’t work, while the bathroom faucet wobbled and only gave a trickle of cold water. The replacement phone was dead, and the TV stopped working on the second day. There wasn’t a microwave or refrigerator when we arrived. Later, the fridge had a freezer packed solid with ice, and the microwave had no turntable, so food burned. A Franken-Motel 6, and the worst hotel stay I’ve ever had.

The staff were nice and let us check in early without charging a fee. The room looked modern and recently updated, and it was clean apart from crumbs in the bed. The bed was below average, though not bad enough to hurt my back. The room and hallway smelled like weed even though ours was non-smoking, and the smell stayed despite running the AC, which wasn’t working quite right. The room was bare bones, without even an alarm clock. Thin walls and noisy guests meant we could hear everything inside and outside the building.
