Americas Best Value Inn Houston Hobby Airport

The guy at the desk was really kind. He even suggested I get cash for the $50 deposit since they release it the same day, while card refunds can take a couple of weeks. They were also fine with me having a friend visit. The hotel is dated and in a bad area, though that can't really be helped. The room was about as clean as an older place can be, but I wouldn't go barefoot in it or in the shower. I put my own blanket on the bed because I'm a bit of a princess about that. I didn't see any bugs, which is always my biggest fear, no matter how new or old a place is. The noise was unreal, from the freeway and airport. Planes seemed to come right over the hotel every 30 minutes to an hour, until 10 p.m. and starting again at 6 a.m. Hobby must have a runway path crossing at a right angle to the hotel. If you're a light sleeper, forget it. Aside from those downsides, it was about as nice as you'd expect for the price.

Convenient for a quick stay, with clean rooms, very nice staff, and easy access to Hobby Houston. It's just a motel with a clean space, though, so I wouldn't recommend it for more than a night if you want amenities.

We picked this location for its proximity to downtown Houston and the NASA Space center, and both were an easy, short drive away. The hotel is next to the freeway, so there was some road noise, but it didn't bother our stay and we still slept well. Check-in and check-out both went smoothly, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The rooms are clean and neat, and the beds are really comfortable. They give you three-star treatment at one- or two-star prices. My girlfriend and I keep choosing this place for fun weekends when we want a little adventure and a change from staying home. The owners always greet us with a smile and a warm welcome. We even met their sweetest little labradoodle. Without getting into our personal stories, I remember telling my girlfriend that the people we meet along the way become some of our magical memories. We want to thank the owners for being so kind and considerate. We've even thought about inviting them to our wedding if we get married.
