Springhill Suites Houston I-45 North

I spent a week here on a business trip and found it clean, quiet, and pleasant. Housekeeping did a good job, and the rooms were clean and well kept. The front desk was consistently helpful and courteous. Breakfast was the usual continental spread, but it was managed well. The bar was expensive, though the drinks were generously poured.

The whole staff helped make my stay pleasant, and Mirtha from housekeeping deserves a special mention. She was professional, detail-oriented, and made sure my room was extremely clean and everything was just right. She was also kind and upbeat, which made a real difference. Thank you, Mirtha!

At checkout on Monday, January 5, I spoke with the front desk about what had happened during my January 2/3-5 visit. The representative said only that he would talk to the night crew about reservations. The general manager was standing there but took no responsibility and offered no solution. I'd already told the other person this was the last straw and that I wouldn't book here again, yet the manager said nothing. That didn't feel okay. I had called Friday evening because my flight was very late. A customer service representative said she'd pass along the dates for my reservation, but when I arrived, the person at the hotel had no idea what I meant. They said there was a technical issue and the desk couldn't book me, and told me to come back at 4 am.

The late-night check-in service was great, and the location is handy for the freeway and nearby places to eat. It was about 17-18 minutes from IAH. So far, the stay has been good, but several outlets need attention. The wall outlet by the desk didn't work, and only one plug in the lower outlet by the desk worked. The upper part of the cover also seemed to cover the sheetrock.
