Hotel Zaza Houston Museum District

The hotel's dark, eclectic style feels distinctive, and all the little details are handled so well. Staff, service, valet and car drivers were all great, and they went out of their way after learning I'd arrived with a minor injury. I also loved the butler pantry on each floor for grabbing a quick morning drink. The restaurant and hotel spaces were beautifully maintained, and the area felt safe and walkable, with Rice Village nearby. This was my first Michelin Key hotel, and it lived up to it. One of the best places I've stayed. I enjoyed the whole visit and will come back.

They had a clean room ready even though I got there early, around 1 PM, and checked me in. The staff in the spacious lobby were very welcoming. My room was very clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the shower got super hot. The medical center is close, about a 15-minute walk, I think. I'd highly recommend the hotel.

The Museum District location is a real perk for wedding portraits, with Hermann Park and its fountains right across the street. As a wedding photographer, I've worked at Hotel ZaZa Museum District several times, and it keeps delivering a memorable experience for couples and vendors. The ballrooms have room for a grand reception while still feeling intimate and keeping the party lively. The whole place is full of photo spots, from the art-lined halls to the "Magnificent Seven" suites, which are especially great for getting-ready pictures. Its look is trendy and upscale. For a chic, sophisticated Houston wedding, this venue really stands out.

The hotel's location is a big plus, with restaurants, museums and parks all within walking distance. The hotel itself was clean and orderly, with elegant holiday decorations, and staff were respectful and impeccable in their service. They were also very helpful when I asked for accommodations and did what they could to meet them. The rooms were clean and beautifully designed. I had mixed feelings about the toiletries: most smelled and felt nice on my skin and hair, but the box of Q-tips and cotton rounds looked reused and torn. The pads fell apart within seconds, and the Q-tip was damaged too. Breakfast at the hotel restaurant was a different story. It was only about 40% full, or less, with several waiters, yet service was very slow. Our food took more than 30 minutes after ordering, and drinks left on the waiters' tray took over 10 minutes to arrive after we asked. I can recommend the hotel, but I'd probably eat breakfast elsewhere or use the complimentary stations by the elevators on each floor. They have a good range of teas, fruit, coffee, milk and sweeteners.
