SpringHill Suites Houston I-10 West/Energy Corridor

The location makes getting on and off IH10 easy, and the hotel itself is clean and nice. Everyone we dealt with was friendly and polite. My main disappointment was breakfast: the pictures online seem outdated, and the current spread is very basic, with no waffle maker or fresh fruit. There was multigrain bread but no other baked goods. We stayed two nights and asked for full housekeeping. The bed wasn't made, and of the four towels, only one replacement was a bath towel. The other two fresh ones were gym towels. I also reported a broken towel handle, but nobody came to repair it. I hope management addresses these things so guests can have a better stay.

We got a good price, which took a lot of stress out of an unexpected Houston trip when money was tight. The staff were accommodating overall, though they could have provided more towels and washcloths. The room and bathroom were laid out really well, and the modern decor still felt welcoming. Breakfast had good options.

For $89 plus taxes and fees, I had a clean room, a comfortable bed, and Paul Mitchell products, and I got four hours of work done instead of losing a day to travel. I needed an oncology follow-up at MD Anderson West (Katy), and this quiet spot farther from the highway meant I didn't have to drive up and back to San Antonio in one day and hurt my hips. The night manager welcomed me when I arrived at 10 pm and kindly put me on the top floor. I found the hotel through a quick Google search and would definitely stay again.

The room was clean and comfortable, but very little else worked for us. At breakfast around 8, despite the stated 6:30 to 9:30 hours, the bread, milk, eggs, and sausage were gone. Only some odd grits remained, and the juices tasted watered down. We were in Houston for two days and were glad we'd booked just one night here before moving to another hotel, where we were much happier. Service also left a bad impression. We arrived at 2:40 to an empty front desk and waited ten minutes for someone to show up. The parking lot was empty, yet the desk still said no top-floor rooms were available. This makes me question the 4.3 rating, and whether the hotel has gone downhill or is buying fake reviews. Marriott quality overall has dropped a lot in the past two years. Very disappointing.
