It looks recently renovated, and the place is clean, peaceful, and practical. You can walk to public transportation, restaurants, and all the things Downtown Houston has to offer. I’d definitely come back.

The front door needs to stay locked. The location is remote, and the room door can’t be locked. Otherwise, it’s a nice, clean house, with bus stops a 3-5 minute walk away and easy routes toward downtown and the space center.
I booked two nights through HostelWorld, but when I arrived during check-in hours, the only instruction was to use an access code I’d never received. Nobody seemed to be inside. The phone message said they only handle reservations online, and neither my calls nor email got a response. I waited outside for two hours and left several messages, then gave up at 8, the end of check-in, and booked a motel. The next day I tried calling about once an hour and still heard nothing, so I’m not booking another night here. I’m very disappointed, and if they charge me for those nights I’ll dispute it with my credit card company. It felt like a scam, though maybe it was just the worst customer service I’ve ever had. I wouldn’t book a bed here without a solid backup plan.
A practical hostel about a mile from downtown Houston, with restaurants and public transportation close by.
I cancelled my reservation after talking to staff on the phone. They were so unfriendly.
