I won't book here again. The freeway noise carried on around the clock, and the meals were bland, with a particularly poor breakfast that didn't even offer cheese. I also found what may have been one or more bed bugs. They moved me for the night, but charged the full higher rate for the replacement room, with no free night, refund, or other compensation. Housekeeping had left trash by the bed, the shower handle was loose, and the water drained slowly. Maintenance overall was poor.

We had a lovely stay. The front desk staff were polite and helpful, and the restaurant and reception area looked stylish and modern. Our room was clean and well stocked. You can hear some highway noise, but it was barely noticeable once we were inside.

I won't be returning to this hotel or any other IHG property. During my current visit, the breakfast included with my room was no longer the good buffet they used to offer, and the item I wanted wasn't available. The extra I paid for breakfast was about what an à la carte order would have cost, which felt like a bait and switch after prepaying. I also booked directly through the IHG website 30 minutes before my stay because, as a platinum elite member, I trusted them to offer a fair rate. They charged me 130 for a room listed for 90 on Priceline. Customer support wouldn't honor the price match, saying I had to contact them 24 hours before my stay. Management has gone downhill over the past few months, and the low occupancy reflects that.

The gym was nice, and the pool looked good, though I didn't use it. Staff were friendly, and the beds were comfortable. My room was clean and modern, with furniture that looked new rather than worn out. I had a great stay from check-in through checkout, and the prices right now are fantastic.

The breakfast at the restaurant was a highlight, with a delicious spread and plenty of choices. The fitness center and pool were also great for relaxing after a busy day. The hotel has a modern, welcoming feel, and my room was spacious, comfortable, and well appointed. Staff were very friendly and attentive throughout my stay. The location made it easy to explore the Galleria area, with lots of shopping, restaurants, and entertainment nearby. I'd highly recommend the Crowne Plaza Houston Galleria Area to anyone visiting Houston. It exceeded my expectations.
