Mold. I’d tell my friends and family to stay away. APT1219 is now charging $100 extra to rent on March 3, 2026. The elevator breaks at least once a month and stays down for about a week, though I use the stairs, so that hasn’t been a huge issue for me. I hoped this would be the right place because it’s close to work. Feng cha is the only good thing about these apartments. The unit was filthy when I got it, as shown in some pictures. I kept asking maintenance to fix things, and it took nearly 10 months to get everything done. Now they’re stressing over move-out costs. In reply to their response: so there are standard move-out guidelines, but no standard for handing over a fresh, clean apartment? Ya’ll need to do better!

What stands out most to me at Calais Midtown is how the staff handle problems. We had a cleanliness issue when we moved in, and it was addressed. I reported broken workout equipment and got a personal call saying a replacement had been ordered and the old one removed from the gym, so I’d know they hadn’t ignored me. Maintenance is amazing and timely, office staff are kind and responsive, and the common areas are clean. The apartments are beautiful and spacious, and I don’t find the price completely unreasonable. I love the gym, pool, and terrace, and the recent increase in community events. We don’t have bugs in our unit, the neighbors are nice, and we rarely hear them. They don’t use Fetch for packages, which I appreciate. Package systems sometimes glitch, but the leasing office sorts it out. Clear delivery instructions have helped, and they even held a package for us while we were on our honeymoon. We plan to stay at least four years, hopefully longer if I get into residency here. Our main issue has been the Building 3 elevator, which was out for six weeks at one point, but it’s being replaced. Car break-ins have increased, though I don’t leave anything visible and haven’t had a problem. There’s city noise, but a noise machine fixes that for us. Every apartment has its problems, and what matters is how they’re handled. If you can live with those downsides, this is a great fit. It’s by far the best apartment I’ve lived in.

Reyna made leasing at Calais Midtown feel easy and stress-free. She was responsive, transparent, and helpful throughout. We picked the corner Jackson floor plan and love it: great natural light, right in Midtown and close to Montrose. The property feels modern and secure, with controlled access doors and personalized codes for each unit. Such a smooth experience thanks to Reyna. Highly recommend if you’re thinking of moving here 💛

I’ve lived at The Calais for eight years, and it feels like home. The apartments are beautiful and spacious, but the people are what make the place special. Bettie, Jay, and Raina on the leasing team are friendly and welcoming. Bettie has been here since I moved in, and I consider her a friend. She’s thoughtful and helpful, even with things beyond The Calais, and she’s a big reason I’ve stayed so long. I hope she’ll be here for many more years. Lindsey, the fairly new Property Manager, is approachable and kind. She listens to residents’ concerns, helps keep the community beautiful, and has become a big part of the Calais family. Jay and Raina always greet you with big smiles and are enthusiastic about helping. The maintenance team is great, too. Ryan manages a talented crew and goes above and beyond to keep the apartments in tip-top shape. He knows his stuff and answers questions or concerns. Brian has helped me a lot as well. He works hard and cleans up so thoroughly that you’d hardly know he’d been in your apartment. Many thanks to all of you. The buildings are lovely, but it’s the staff who make you feel like family.
