I’ve been a devoted Palace Inn customer for years and usually have nothing but praise for the chain, though I’d never stayed at this location before. After what happened here last night, I reported it. It was late, I was alone, and it was a terrible experience. I’d barely settled into my room when a staff member came and pounded on my door over a misunderstanding about the location’s policy. I know hotel staff knock, but this felt like the police were about to raid the place and take me in. I opened the door hesitantly, frightened. He yelled at me and gestured while I stood still, partly behind the door, saying there was a policy about whatever. Palace Inn locations can have different policies, and that’s understandable. His violent behavior toward a customer wasn’t. It was unacceptable after such a long day. My heart was pounding, and at one point I genuinely thought he was going to lay hands on me. Once I got my senses back, I said I’d report him and asked to handle things at the front desk. He backed up, said he didn’t want to argue and had no reason to, then walked to the front. I wasn’t arguing or trying to reason with him. He’d repeatedly yelled, “you need to get out of here now, no refund, get out or I’m calling the police,” but in the end he gave me a refund very quickly, after I said I’d report his behavior. I hope my report leads to something. Keeping someone who abuses his bit of power and can’t control himself reflects poorly on the company and drives clients away. I tried to get his name so I could post it here, but didn’t. He was an older Indian gentleman. The other Indian gentleman there was very nice and shorter than him, in case that helps anyone be wary. If the staff member had knocked, even pounded like hotel staff do, then explained the situation, I’d have gladly listened. We probably could’ve resolved it without me leaving. Instead, he went straight to aggression.

I stayed for two weeks, and this is the best place you can find. It was very clean, and the staff were welcoming. The ladies who cleaned the room were professional, and I hadn’t seen room cleaning done that way at other places. I was in room 214, and everything was good. Thank you to the staff.

They did refund my money, but the whole stay was a mess. I paid $80 for one night. The first room had white stains on the comforter and hair on the pillows, so I told the staff and got moved. In the replacement room, there was a strong marijuana smell, and when I checked under the sheets, as I always do in hotels, there were hairs all over them, like someone had just shaved there. I went back to the office again. The manager acted terribly and accused me of complaining, even though I showed her exactly what I meant. She said nobody else complains, but my standards are high and reasonable. They basically refused to serve me because I was calling out their low standards and unprofessional behavior.

My fiancée and I had booked a room for the night and everything was fine until her sister dropped off our dinner. Then the manager started banging on the door, told us to leave, and threatened to call the police. We were kicked out just because someone brought something by. The service was awful, and I’d recommend staying anywhere else.

We were lost, and a woman working there came out and yelled at us with a real attitude. The location isn't nice either. I'd stay away if good service matters to you.
