If cockroaches are what you’re after, this is the place, with dead ones included among the amenities. The microwave was sticky, and the glasses were filthy. Nothing like picking up a few extra roommates while visiting HTX.

We came for a birthday weekend, but left early because water leaked from the ceiling into our room. Bugs were crawling on the counter, too. The GM contacted me and promised to make things right because I’m a Dimond Elite member, but everything he said he’d do turned out to be a lie. I haven’t received a refund for the unused nights, and now they won’t return or take my calls. I’ll be trying to contact the property owners directly. Do not stay here.

Update 2: My sister and nephew were on the 2nd floor and found ROACHES behind the refrigerator. They checked out this morning. Update 3: At 7:45am there was NO WATER, so we couldn’t flush, shower, or wash dishes. After going back and forth with management, we did work out compensation for the inconvenience, but I’m still unhappy and won’t stay here again. The pet urine smell on the third floor was overwhelming from the moment you stepped out of the elevator. Our room and its rug, couch, and bed comforters all smelled like pets. My daughter has pet allergies, and the smell was triggering them. I stayed here a few years ago without any problems, so I’m really disappointed because I liked this hotel last time.

We’d just stayed at another Staybrige on vacation last month and had a great time, so I expected the same here. This place is old and needs major updates. A boil order was in place when we arrived, but they didn’t provide bottled water. The hotel wasn’t very clean, with stained hallway carpets and window curtains, and a terrible sewer smell by the pool. In the bathroom, the shower curtain rod was broken and the sink leaked. The refrigerator also wasn’t working right. I found fake lashes under the nightstand when I moved it to plug in a lamp. Luckily we were only here for two nights. Otherwise, I’d have canceled and gone elsewhere. I’ll avoid this location next time I’m in Houston.
