Red Roof Inn Indianapolis East

The front desk person was rude and dismissive when I arrived, told me to leave because I had dogs, and refused to let me stay. Red Roof is a pet-friendly chain. I also spoke with someone who said she was a manager; when I explained what happened, she called me a liar. I found the people working at or running this motel dishonest and untrustworthy. I wouldn’t return even if they offered me a free stay.

We stayed here on the way east and again on our return to MN. Room 122 was the best! It’s right off the freeway, and there’s a nice lawn behind the property where our dogs could stretch their legs after a long drive. Nice hotel.

The parking lot has huge craters that can bottom out your vehicle, and parking gets crowded because they seem to put everyone on the back side. I’ve also been told that guests whose stays are paid for by a third party have fewer customer service options. The door sensors are creepy too. They don’t benefit you, but apparently track when your door opens and closes. If you need shelter, this place will do, but I’d spend a few more dollars for somewhere better.

My wife and I stay here a couple of times a year when we travel between Michigan and Florida. It’s conveniently close to the highways, with restaurants and stores just a short drive away. The staff have been very friendly and helpful.
