The pool and jacuzzi were working, and breakfast was decent for this kind of place. We’d stayed once before, and the hotel seems to have had a little refresh. The rooms were clean, though it’s still an older property. One warning about the bed: that dark wooden platform sticking out seemed useful, but I didn’t spot it at 3 a.m. while heading to the bathroom and banged my lower shin. I’ve got a nice bruise now.

The room was comfortable, the bed was good, and breakfast was fine. It’s no Ritz Carlton, but the stay was very good. The standout was the front desk. Emily was great at check-in, and Sebastian caught a mistake I’d made and fixed it right away. He was one of the most honest, reputable desk agents I’ve dealt with. 4.5.

The room was mostly clean, and the soap was decent. That’s about where the positives end. The bed was just mediocre, and the sheets felt cheap and plasticky. There was supposed to be an airport shuttle, but there’s no shuttle service at all, which feels misleading for a hotel calling itself an airport hotel. Breakfast was laughably average and didn’t even have fruit. I gave it three stars because there were no bedbugs or roaches. Around here, that alone puts it ahead of a lot of budget hotels.

The room looked clean, though I’m not sure it really was. Online check-in was pointless, so don’t bother. And the lobby smells like grandma’s house. It’s okay if all you need is a budget hotel, but the pillows are tiny, basically half a pillow. They put four throw pillows on a queen bed.

The freeway noise made sleep nearly impossible. We were on that side of the hotel, and the windows were so cheap that traffic roared in all night. The pillows were awful too, and now my neck hurts. There’s a platform jutting out beside the bed for a small suitcase, but I walked into it on my way to the bathroom at night and ended up with a huge shin bruise. You can’t order food without an app, and walking down a dark road to Whataburger wasn’t happening. I expected an airport shuttle since other nearby hotels have one, but this place doesn’t. We’ve stayed at several places around here, and this was easily the worst. I’ll never book a BW Plus again. The “Plus” felt more like being screwed over. I got better service at a regular BW.
