Homewood Suites by Hilton Irving - DFW Airport

The hotel was good, the service was good, and it’s a good distance from the airport. My only complaint is the shuttle. The vans are old and small, and eight people with luggage end up packed in tight. It took 52 minutes from when I called to get picked up. That may have just been the day I was there, so take it for what it is.

As a Hilton Gold member, I won’t be back. I’d chosen a fourth-floor room facing outward during online check-in, but when my key came through I’d been switched to a second-floor roof room. I don’t know why they changed it, since it wasn’t an upgrade. The shuttle was another headache. I called ahead to confirm it ran at 10 pm, then called again and was told it would be 20 minutes. After 30 minutes I called back, and the driver finally showed up. What should have been a 10-minute ride turned into a long loop: we stopped at the next-door hotel first, though I didn’t realize it was next door until half an hour later, then went to seven more hotels, including four within a five-minute walk. From the farthest stop, it was a five-minute drive back, with me last on the bus. They could just tell me to take an Uber. There are plenty of choices.

We stayed five nights for a wedding in town. The first room had a broken closet rod, so we asked to move. Later that night in the new room, we found disgusting food under the sofa bed and a red stain on the bed blanket. I took pictures and showed them to the front desk the next morning. They sent a basket of snacks as an apology and changed the sheets and towels, but when I checked, the food was still under the sofa bed. I gave up complaining after that because the hotel seemed clearly incompetent. Homewood has a satisfaction guarantee, and I definitely wasn’t satisfied. I’d like the owner to contact me about a refund. I wouldn’t recommend staying here or at any Hilton chain.

Victor at the front desk was lovely, and the remodeled place feels fresh and modern. Breakfast was great before our flight.
